Gumless jackfruit is a special type of jackfruit known for producing little to no sticky latex (gum) when the fruit is cut. The tree and fruit look similar to regular jackfruit, with large, green, spiky outer skin and yellow, fleshy bulbs inside. The edible bulbs are sweet, aromatic, and may be soft or firm depending on the variety. The main distinguishing feature is its non-sticky nature, which makes it much easier to handle and prepare compared to ordinary jackfruit. Unlike regular types that release a thick white sap causing mess and sticking to hands and knives, gumless jackfruit can be cut cleanly without applying oil.
