The fruit, though somewhat dry, tastes quite pleasant. It is eaten fresh by the local people. Besides eating fresh, it is also preserved as pickle and jam. It is also used for making wine and a beverage is also made from it. Fruits are rich in vitamin C,and it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-tumor properties. Dig pits 1–1.5 ft deep. Mix soil with Vermicompost. Maintain 2–3 meters spacing between plants.
