Red jaboticaba is a seedling hybrid. Which bear fruits faster than other normal jaboticabas. The fruit is a mix of greenish and reddish appearence. The tree bark tends to peel and reveal a lighter interior bark. False jaboticaba develops multiple trunks. The leaves are lance-shaped, bright green, and glossy. Flowers appear in clusters and are snowy white with showy, prominent stamen. Traditionally, an astringent decoction of the sun-dried skins has been used as a treatment for hemoptysis, asthma, diarrhea, and gargled for chronic inflammation of the tonsils.Several potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory anti-cancer compounds have been isolated from the fruit.One that is unique to the fruit is jaboticabin.Jaboticaba red fruit plants in Kerala is available in our farm. Planting Method

Site Selection

Thrives in subtropical/tropical climates. Prefers full sun and well-drained fertile soil.

Planting

Dig pits 1–1.5 ft deep. Mix soil with Vermicompost. Maintain 2–3 meters spacing between plants.
