DXT Coconut is a hybrid coconut variety developed by crossing Dwarf (D) and Tall (T) coconut types. This variety combines the early bearing nature of dwarf palms with the strong growth and high productivity of tall varieties, making it suitable for commercial cultivation. DXT coconut palms usually start producing coconuts within 3–4 years after planting. The trees grow moderately tall and vigorous, and they can produce a high number of coconuts annually under proper cultivation practices. The coconuts are generally medium to large in size and contain good quality copra and tender coconut water. This variety is known for its better yield, strong root system, and adaptability to tropical climates. Because of its high productivity, good nut quality, and early bearing, DXT Coconut is widely preferred by farmers for commercial farming as well as plantation cultivation. Botanical name: Cocos nucifera Country of origin: India (CPCRI, Kerala)
