Pomelo is a large Asian citrus fruit that’s closely related to grapefruit. Pomelo tastes similar to grapefruit, but it’s sweeter. However, it is the largest citrus fruit from the family Rutaceae. It is a natural, i.e., non-hybrid, citrus fruit, native to Southeast Asia. The pomelo tree maybe 16–50 ft (5–15 m) tall thick, and low-hanging, irregular branches. Leaf petioles are distinctly winged, with alternate, ovate or elliptic shapes 2–8 in (5–20 cm) long, with a leathery, dull green upper layer, and hairy underleaf. The flowers — single or in clusters — are fragrant and yellow-white in color. The flesh tastes like a mild grapefruit, with little of its common bitterness. Moreover, the juice is regarded as delicious, and the rind is used to make preserves or maybe candied. Botanical name: Citrus maxima Origin: Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia region)
