Annona scleroderma, commonly known as cawesh or poshe-te, is a species of tropical fruit tree in the Annonaceae family. Native to the Atlantic coastal regions of Central America, its natural range extends from southern Mexico and Guatemala to Honduras. The tree typically grows to a height of 15–20 meters. It produces edible fruits roughly the size of an orange, with a tough outer skin that makes them easy to handle and transport. Inside, the fruit contains cream-colored flesh with a soft texture and a rich flavor often described as a blend of banana and pineapple. Annona scleroderma is relatively little known outside its native region and is not widely cultivated, except in certain parts of Guatemala. Trees grown from seed generally take around four years to begin producing fruit.Botanical name: Annona scleroderma,Native to Central America
