The Annona (Rollinia) deliciosa is a large variant of the Annona (Rollinia) mucosa. The fruits can weigh more than 900 grams and are deliciously sweet and very aromatic. The tree can reach a height of 10 to 20 meters, but it already bears fruit when it is less than 2 meters high. The deliciosa is a faster grower and fruits in the tropics after 2 years. It should be in full sun and the soil should be well drained and well fertilized. The tree cannot stand the cold. When the tree blooms, the scent is breathtaking in the early evening. It is a fresh sweet smell that somewhat resembles yogurt.
