Spartan Blueberry is an early-season Northern Highbush blueberry variety prized for its exceptionally large berries, premium flavor, and strong market demand. It belongs to the section Cyanococcus within the genus Vaccinium, the same botanical group that includes cranberries, bilberries, and huckleberries. Spartan is widely cultivated for commercial production as well as home gardens due to its high-quality fruit and attractive plant structure. Spartan blueberry plants are upright and vigorous, typically reaching 1.2 to 1.8 meters (4 to 6 feet) in height. The plant produces very large, light blue berries with a sweet, mildly tangy flavor and firm texture.
